| A course designed for prospective middle school math teachers. Middle school students need lots of concrete experiences to develop their geometric intuition, and can begin developing geometric reasoning abilities, so this course takes a hands-on approach. Lessons include: Equilateral Triangles and Beyond; Constructing Perpendiculars; Polygons; Angles in Polygons and Tessellations; Euclid and Proofs; Tessellations by computer; Measuring Triangles; Triangle Congruence Theorems; The Pythagorean Theorem; Coordinate Systems for the Plane; Vectors; Symmetry of Polyhedra; Angle sums on a curved surface. | |
